I am very upset because I found 3 live bed bugs in my bed today after finding out a couple days ago that my brothers girlfriends family has been dealing with bed bugs for awhile. Apparently my mom knew a bit earlier but didn't do anything about it and now we have found a couple bugs. My brothers girlfriend and my brother tried to wash their clothes regularly to avoid spreading it but obivously some have gotten to our place. I am incredibly upset and frustrated with how apathetic my parents are about this. My boyfriend is furious that he and his family might get infected because of this and upset that my family didn't care to take the proper preventative methods to avoid getting any. I'm upset too that they didn't think about taking more precautions or to be more worried about the possibility of us getting them too. I'm more upset that I have had them in my bed and drinking my blood but my mom thinks I'm overreacting over being upset and disgusted by it. She thinks I'm overreacting that I got mad at them for not being more worried about the possibility and trying to take more precautions. That they didn't care enough to think about the consequences about us having to deal with it but also spread it to others too. My boyfriends family has been nothing but kind and welcoming and I'm so incredibly embarassed that my family might give them bed bugs. I feel so embarassed that my family is so apathetic about these things and don't really care about being worried about it like most people. I'm upset by the fact that I've told my mom how much I hate the idea of having bed bugs on me and my bed but she acts like it's not big deal.
Does anyone have tips or advice for dealing with them? If I found 3 live bugs but don't think I found any eggs, do you think we might have an infestation or maybe just some stray ones? I vacuumed my whole room and bed and also sprayed rubbing alcohol on it and on the edges and scrubbed it a bit. I immediately washed all my blankets, sheets and pillow cases. I also put my clothing near my bed and on my floor in bags and will be putting them in the dryer tonight. Do I also have to put the clothing in my closest in the dryer? Should I do anything else? My parents are contacting our landlord and asking for an inspection tomorrow since it's sunday and they aren't open today. I just feel so unheard and sad about this. My boyfriend is pissed that he and his family might have bed bugs (his parents are quite a bit older and it would be a lot of time and money for them to get treated). I have to sleep in a room with possibly more bed bugs tonight. I hate the idea of bugs crawling on me and drinking my blood... laying eggs... etc.
I’d suggest you call Telus ASAP and request to speak with a Retention officer (?) to get a discount of $15-$20 a month, regarding home wifi and cable.
I called and said I had noticed they had a free TV promotion for New Customers, but what did they have for existing customers?
Lady said nothing for us, so I asked what’s the cost of cancelling? - $10 per month for remainder of your contract (thankfully I was month to month) - so I could become a new customer and get a free tv:
Lady then said she can either give me a free tv (Samsung 55” 4K = approx. $500 on Amazon) or $15 a month discount (if I renew a 24 month contract)
After talking her ear off in circles to get me off the phone she eventually offered me $20 off per month.
I doubt you’d have to talk for 20 minutes to get the same or better deal.
Always push your service providers for retention discounts. They ain’t gonna lose a dollar, but you might save $20.
