It has recently come to the mods' attention that numerous users have taken breaks from our sub or stopped coming altogether because there's too much negativity here. It is tiresome.
I personally do NOT believe in censorship, so I'm not trying to quell your right to free speech. Not that the 1st amendment applies to an internet forum about a reality show, but I digress. Last week's version of this was successful, so we're doing it again.
Hating this season? Think the cast is unlikable? Not enjoying the politics or alliances? Have nobody to root for? Tired of Cara+Paulie? Think Jor+Tor are putting us on? Believe Joss is boring, Kayleigh undeserving, Kam obnoxious, CT a shell of his former self, and the UK team stupid for their strategy?
Great! Talk all about that here, as opposed to making new threads about it. And plz remember rule 2 and espesh 2a of our sub. Be civil and respectful with each other in particular, but also cast members.
K have at it <3
As we see in the preview for the upcoming episode, it’s a swimming challenge that results in purge. I already am not a big fan of purges because it cancels people out without giving them a chance to at least fight in an elimination round. However if there are to be purges, I wish they were moreso based on either mini finals (like on exes 2, bloodlines and dirty 30) where it tests your endurance plus a a variety of skills typical in a final, or even something like the bloodbath on invasion where it it wasn’t just based on one skill alone. I could see sending the losing team straight into elimination, however to flat out send them home based off of failing one skill I feel is a disservice to a true competition show.
Imagine someone being very strong, a great runner, good at puzzles, yet because they get the slowest time on a swim they automatically go home? Or say the purge is just about strength. You could be a strong swimmer, good at puzzles, etc, yet lose in a purge that’s only geared towards lifting a weight. All I’m saying is that purges need to be based on multiple skills if they’re going to have them. The only type of purge I’m somewhat okay with that only tests one skill, are the endurance and running ones similar to vendettas because at least that’s moreso just a factor of if one is really there to play or not.
Ik everyone talks about hating ridiculous re-runs but has there ever been any talk about the actual reason why they don’t show the Challenge on Wednesday? Jersey shore, Teen mom, Catfish, etc get days where they’re on non-stop and have a new episode later that night. I saw someone in a comment say maybe the other seasons could be considered too controversial and MTV don’t want them spreading on social media? Like from the stuff that took place on the island all the way up to the recent seasons where there was stuff on camera and allegations of stuff happening behind scenes ( ie Tape gate coming out and MTV still editing Amanda in like the worst person that season) but even that theory was posted as a rumor
