We’re releasing Update 14 today, which brings Fallout 1st, our new membership service to Fallout 76. We’ve also added the Mischief Night Seasonal event, color-coded item rarities and limited-time Halloween-themed rewards in Nuclear Winter, design changes, bug fixes, and more! Read on to catch the patch notes for today’s update. If you'd prefer, you can also check out the patch notes on Fallout.com.
Fallout 1st: Become a member to get exclusive access to a Private World, unlimited crafting component storage with the Scrapbox, a second Fast Travel point with the Survival Tent, monthly best value Atoms, and more.
Mischief Night Seasonal Event: Put on your favorite costume and head to the Whitespring Resort from October 29 – November 5 to run wild during Mischief Night!
(NW) New Limited Time Rewards: Unlock six limited-time Halloween themed cosmetic rewards by completing Nuclear Winter Challenges from October 29 – November 12.
(NW) Color-Coded Item Rarities: Nuclear Winter items are now color-coded so that you can quickly size up their effectiveness as you scavenge during your matches.
Legendary Scorchbeasts: Ready your weapons and open your loot bags, because these winged terrors now have a chance to spawn as legendary enemies.
More Frequent Public Events: We’ve significantly reduced the cooldown from the start of one Public Event to the next, meaning more Public Events, more often.
Download sizes for this update will be less than 8 GB for consoles and under 3.5 GB for PC.
Making a mod announcement, as promised, since the organic post is no longer trending.
Per this ruling, Australian players who requested a refund between November 24th, 2018 and June 1st, 2019 but did not receive one can now get their refund from ZeniMax Media.
If you seek the refund, please read the ruling in full.
The reason I am doing this as a mod announcement instead of promoting a user post is that mods from other subreddits have had issues in the past with users making bad faith edits after having their post promoted. I do not suspect any of our users would do this, but I am being abundantly cautious.
I sell my items fairly cheap to spread the fun around. If someone has been an asshole enough for me to bother with a block, I don't want my machines selling anything to them.
I get some of you don’t deal with this often, but I run a small acid deposit. Those spots are usually pretty valuable and get people taking them all the time. I just had the game give me 6 server hops. Hell one time I had 5 where it consistently put me in the same exact server. I know it was the same server because the same exact level 180 and his camp were at the Whitesprings station every time it told me “Would you like to try again?”
Edit: In advance, please don’t reply with “there’s other ways or better ways to get acid” because that’s not the point being made. I’m aware there are other options. I use everything available to stock as much as possible. That doesn’t change the issue
At some point in the past week I began experiencing a new bug when fast travelling. For whatever reason, despite correct cap costs etc., when I fast travel I am frequently taken to the wrong location - usually in an entirely different region on the map. Most recently, I was travelling from Mount Blair to Camden Park, but instead was taken to Pleasant Valley Ski Resort. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I’m lvl 16. I’m terrible. I have to play hide and seek to get XP.
Today my 9 year old asked me if he could try to play NW. I handed him the controller and wished him good luck.
He spent his first match just walking around upright and lasted about 45 seconds. His second match he killed two people early on and made it to the third circle.
The third match? Oh you know where this is going. He WON. A group of 4. He held his own with 3 kills and 2 downed. He headshot a dude in a guard post with his gauss.
I don’t think I’ve landed a headshot on purpose in 50+ matches.
TL:dr I am terrible at NW and now my 9 year old will be grinding for these XP rewards. I pay him in candy.
Edit: my son and I are blown away by all the positive comments this post has received! I’m currently trying to explain what an “upvote” is, but regardless we really appreciate the love!
The practice of plant irradiation has resulted in the development of over two thousand new varieties of plants, most of which are now used in agricultural production. Additionally, the Rio Star Grapefruit, developed at the Texas A&M Citrus Center in the 1970s, now accounts for over three quarters of the grapefruit produced in Texas.
Enjoy your breakfast, Fallout fans!
(Dear Mods, I respectfully submit that this post does have something to do with Fallout 76: mutfruit specifically, and the application of atomic energy to american agriculture in general, which is a central theme in the lore of 76.)
