Please remember to keep everything civil and relevant to the episode. As always this is a spoiler-friendly zone. If you are not caught up do not read any further if you don't want something spoiled.
Okay I just watched S4 E6. In this episode, Hahn has her first day as chief of cardio. Richard tells Shepherd that he wants to have a Gentlemen’s Evening. Hahn ends up doing an awake open heart surgery. Richard calls Hahn into his office to reprimand her for not running this highly unusual surgery by him first. Hahn gets on her soapbox and says that having a Gentlemen’s Evening where only the male attending are invited is like when surgeons used to have their boy’s club meeting at the country club where black gentleman weren’t allowed. That’s all the backstory from the episode.
Part of what I’m gonna say is because I can’t fucking stand Hahn as an individual. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Richard to be concerned about the surgery. They’ve never had one like this at Seattle Grace and the patient freaks out mid-surgery. I think it’s normal for a chief to be a little wary on the first day of one of their attendings regardless of whether they are the head of their department. Especially when this is a highly experimental and risky procedure. Also it’s not like he invited all of the male attendings in the hospital to his Gentlemen’s Evening. He invited Shepherd, who is letting the chief stay with him and Shep invited Mark. That’s it. Men are allowed to get together and have fun by themselves. There’s absolutely no difference between what he was planning and the typical Thursday night Girls Night Out. People want to hang out with their friends. Hahn has not worked with any of these people long enough or been nice enough to make anyone even kind of consider being her friend. It’s literally her first freaking day. She’s a bitch and calling it feminism. I just don’t think that’s right.
From what I've read, they'll be releasing seasons 1-6 on December 22nd.
This is exciting news for me, as I started watching on Hulu but the ads get exhausting when you're trying to binge a little 🤦😂 if I could afford it, I would get Hulu without ads. However, my subscription comes with my Spotify premium account and therefore is no extra cost to me.
Hopefully this is good news for many others 👏 I still need to watch a whole ton of it, including the final season.
This being said, can we confidently assume that they won't be removing Grey's anytime soon? I know there was much debate about this before, and I was one of the pathetic hopefuls haha but perhaps they won't be taking it away from us just yet 🤷
