I lurk here often and just wanted to say that Nashville is really an awesome place with a very diverse population and a rich history. I know a lot of people don't like the scooters and the "Woo girls" but as a person who likes to people watch I enjoy them. 2nd and Broadway is touristy but if that's not your thing you can go east or west of there and find awesome locals and hole in the walls.
Yes, traffic can be bad at times but having lived in Chicago I promise you, it isn't THAT bad here.
