(In which we celebrate not dying during Hell Week, among other things)
This is your monthly highlight post, curated and refreshed to keep important stuff at the top. If you are new to OTF, this is the best place to start. As always, you can use this thread to share and discuss upcoming intel for the month, tornado templates, and other random topics.
Nov 3: Daylight Savings ends in the US: studios will run a special “25th hour” class where you can bring a friend for free.
Nov 7: 2,000 meter benchmark row
Nov 11: Veteran’s Day: special workout…?
Nov 15: Catch Me If You Can (Signature Workout)
Nov 17: “Take a Hike” (whatever that means - likely a new Specialty Workout)
Nov 18: 500 meter benchmark row
Nov 28: Thanksgiving Day: partner workout…?
Nov 29: Black Friday: special workout…?
All signs point to this not happening this year, but there seems to be an emphasis on rowing still with 2 rowing benchmarks coming up.

you switch only for the benchmark as described below
Rowers / Floor
Block 1 - benchmark
warm up on floor for 3 minutes
move to rower, continue warm up for 3 minutes
500m benchmark row
move to treads while tread team does benchmark row: intervals are 160metre / 0.1 miles on, 30 seconds WR off until time called (tread team do this interval in their warmup, while row team does their benchmark)
Block 2 - strength
I highly recommend *not* closing your eyes while running at push pace! Made that mistake this morning and opened my eyes to discover I'd drifted to the left and couldn't recover. Made a big ole splat onto the floor and terrified the woman on the treadmill next to me.
Got my heart rate up really fast, though!
Not sure what kind of brave person possessed me but I called and signed up for my first orange theory class. I have to be there at 9:30 and I’m very close to canceling. I’m about 80 lbs overweight and haven’t been in a gym in about 2 years. I just had surgery in August, but my surgeon said ok to exercise. I am scared that I won’t be able to do it and that it will be embarrassing. Am I jumping into the deep end of the pool? Should I be starting smaller, from am exercise perspective?
Happy Sunday - there's a new week of work ahead of us!
Please use this thread to discuss OTF rumors and intel on upcoming events, workout details, or OTF related tech updates. These might be things your coach told you when you were stretching, things you heard at the front desk, things from Facebook, etc.
Don't forget to also check out the monthly calendar for more solid intel on workout themes. Also, please remember that not all rumor-mills are 100% accurate... so read at your own risk. ;-)
