I am sorry to bug you guys.

I am in need of a room to rent i am on social assistance atm, i can afford 400 to 500 at the most i know it just covers rent.

I wont go into insane details but ill give you a tldr: Got divorced 3 years ago, moved out, people i live with have a dog who is rather aggressive (I had no idea before i moved in), My kids came for a visit and my daughter got attacked unprovoked while cuddling me watching a movie.

The owners refuse to take any responsibility and tell me its my fault for having my daughters over and the dog is going nowhere and to move out if i call by law and move out anyways cause it was apparently my fault for bringing my kids to my place for visitation.

They are kicking me out as of 6pm tonight, my gf and I had a fight over this after it happened and blamed me for bringing my kids there so i don't think i will have a gf by tonight so that is not an option, if anyone can help me it would be awesome and i wont have to sleep in a shelter or outside for the 3rd time in my life... I cannot go homeless again.

Please help!

.. don't turn to Reddit for help... Seriously..

I've just read two threads in the past day of people getting bad legal advice from well meaning Redditors.

  1. Look at common issues - For common issues, Ontario has really good, digestible guides. Like this!

  2. Read the act - For more nuanced things like: "am I a tenant if I don't have a signed lease?" Or "can I be kicked out if I'm rented from a friend?", The act can look intimidating but there are only a few parts you need to look at. For example: the glossary for "tenant" and "subtenant" give really good insights. Grab a coffee or beer, take a deep breath and dig in, being satisfied you're educating yourself on your rights. Here is the act

  3. Get proper help -You can get a free 30 minute call with a legal through the Law Society of Ontario. If you qualify, you can also get legal aid. More info here

As the O-Train pulls into Rideau station, most people on the platform stand to the side of the doors, anticipating that people will exit the train before it's our turn to board. At the last minute, some old guy and presumably his wife, barge down the stairs and walk straight through the crowd and right to the doors, where the guy begins mashing the button to open the door (FYI you usually don't need to press the button lol).

The doors open and there's just one guy waiting to get off who simply goes "OK boomer" and walks straight between the old man and his wife to get off the train. It was hilarious, and I honestly can't believe how quickly this meme has caught on.

It's a good week. I think that sums it up nicely. If you're into sales, ProntoForm is hosting their "Happy Hour Hustle" on Thursday evening. You can find direct links to all these events and more in November and December on ourOttawa career event page.

Hands-down the worst radio interview I've ever heard (on Hubley's part. Robin is, as usual, a total pro). His tone is defensive, his information is sometimes just wrong, and this whole thing could be the dictionary definition of "mansplain". cbc.ca/amp/1.5360635
