Week of: November 18 - November 24

This is a weekly thread of some of the goings-on in and around the Phoenix metro area. Feel free to subscribe to our public Google Calendar of meetups and events as well.

This is not meant to be an all-inclusive list. Such a list would be large and unwieldy. If there is an event that you don't see posted here, please add a comment below. In the comment, include the event, date, time, cost (if any), and location. A brief description would also be dandy. Please upvote people who share good/interesting events, even if it may not be something you will attend.

Don't see anything of interest? Click on any one of the dates to be taken to a comprehensive listing of events for that day over at the Phoenix New Times' web site.

If you organize or know of a meet-up that you'd like to promote, please PM the mods and we'll look into getting it added to the calendar. We'll post these events up to six weeks out. At that point, we ask that you ping us again. This just helps to ensure that the events stay fresh and no defunct events appear on the calendar.

With that said, the moderators of r/Phoenix (including but not limited to their families, friends (ha!), pets, and possessions) are not responsible for errors in these listings. Please take the time to verify the date, time, location, and cost of an event before you head out.

The Phoenix area is expected to get rain for the next three days, and cooling things off even more. Adding in /u/funbob 's list of Interesting Weather Links. He's posting more updates here.

Hi all!

A Cappella Syndicate, an award-winning men's ensemble, is looking for a few good singers! If you love to sing tight harmonies, and enjoy performing before audiences young and old, A Cappella Syndicate might be right for you. We are a brotherhood where members share the love of singing, and singing well, and have fun together on-stage, and off. We continually strive to sing and perform better, and our efforts are rewarded by the ovations of our audiences. In order to maintain a balance in our Syndicate sound, we are currently looking for some really good basses, a few tenors and a couple of baritones. However we will gladly interview and audition any good singer and place his voice where it will be comfortable in our style of singing and where his voice can best serve the sound of the Syndicate.

Auditions will be scheduled with each singer personally as he progresses through the introduction process. If you feel you have what it takes to be part of this dynamic and fun group, please stop by one of our rehearsals, reply here, or reach us through We meet every Tuesday evening at 7 PM at the Orangewood Presbyterian Church, 7321 N 10th St, Phoenix, AZ 85020.

More About A Cappella Syndicate:Under the artistic direction of Gary Steinkamp and Brent Graham, A Cappella Syndicate has wowed audiences throughout Arizona and beyond, singing various styles of a cappella music, including barbershop.
